FAQ17: Medical Withdrawals
QUESTION:
Can I withdraw from school due to illness?
ANSWER:
Any student wishing to withdraw/cease enroll from the college must go to the Office of Academic Support and meet with a counselor. During this meeting the counselor will ascertain whether the student MAY qualify for a medical withdrawal and will discuss some of the financial implications of the withdrawal. The student will then be required to obtain an official medical report from their physician indicating the following:
- Official diagnosis, treatment plan, professional opinion as to whether the student can complete the term at this time and when the student will be able to return to school.
Once the medical documentation is obtained by the counselor the case will be reviewed and a decision regarding the medical withdrawal will be issued.
