QUESTION:
When might I be referred to the Counseling center, or should I self-refer?
ANSWER:
If a students' problems go beyond what is appropriate for advising or academic counseling you may be referred to the Counseling center. The college offers free confidential psychological counseling services to help with personal & psychological issues which can become major obstacles to your academic success and mental well being.
- Typical issues that likely would result in a referral to the counseling center are substance abuse, eating disorders, suicide ideation, social anxiety, and self-harm.
- Counseling is available for a broad range of developmental & psychological issues, such as depression, anxiety, and relationship problems to name a few.
