How do I transfer credits?
ANSWER:
The first step in obtaining transfer credit is to obtain a "Off Campus Course Approval" form from the Office of the Registrar. Complete and return it along with a course description of the course you wish to take to the Office of the Registrar. If you are attempting to transfer credit in as an elective or a core course requirement, the Registrar will review the description and request form and render a decision.
If you are attempting to transfer a course that would meet your major requirements, you must have the course description evaluated by the department chair for approval. For example, if you want to transfer credit for a math course not in the core, you will need the approval of the Math Department chair.
- Once you've obtained departmental approval return the course description and all copies of the form to the Registrar's Office. The Registrar will validate the Off Campus Approval and you will be given the student copy to register for that course.
- Once you have completed the course, have the other college send an official transcript directly to the Office of Registrar, Mercyhurst College.
